How to send a ringtone

Step 1. Open the contact or alarm in your Library and tap the Share button on any saved version.

Step 2. On the share sheet, tap Save to Files to save the audio file to your device first.

Step 3. Open the Files app, find the saved file, and send it to your friend via WhatsApp, email, or any app — always as a file attachment, never as a voice message.

How to use a received ringtone

Step 1. When you receive the file, save it to your Files app. Do not just play it inline — save it as a file.

Step 2. Open the Files app and tap the ringtone file to open it.

Step 3. Tap the share icon on the file. The share sheet will show a Use as Ringtone option — tap it to set the ringtone on your phone.
